AGILIS® Launch in Switzerland

The launch event featured many highlights: As the pinnacle of motorsport, Formula One relies on efficient performance, the fastest technologies and sustainable products and processes. Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake’s new C43 is painted in the eco-friendly, lightweight and innovative AGILIS® paint system by R-M. Therefore, the event took place at Sauber Motorsport AG in Hinwil in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, together with Sauber Group’s Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake, and showcased the new product line’s advantages for the body and paint industry. AGILIS® – the fastest performance to ensure that resources are used as efficiently as possible: First, guests were given the opportunity to take a look at the new products’ performance for themselves during a live demonstration at ArtLack Atelier GmbH. With its two owners, Erik Buser and Daniel Cona, and three employees, ArtLack Atelier GmbH is the longstanding official automotive painter for the Sauber F1 team. Overseen by moderator Sebastian Wyder, Sales Manager at BASF Coatings Services AG, two professional automotive painters performed three different repair jobs within one hour. These included demonstrations of how the waterborne AGILIS® product only needs to be applied in two layers instead of three thanks to its hiding power – saving time, energy and material. The product demonstration continued at the Sauber Group’s event area between the Sauber F1 racing cars of the last three decades. Alexander Bru, Managing Director of BASF Coatings Services AG, and Tobias Brefeld, Head of Automotive Refinish Coatings DACH, presented the new AGILIS® basecoat line in detail. “Every day, we are confronted with considerable challenges arising from the current market dynamics, general cost pressures and our responsibility to be sustainable. We are convinced that with AGILIS® and our holistic brand value proposition, we can contribute to meeting these challenges,” Bru commented. “The new waterborne basecoat line is a completely newly developed system using the latest pigment technology, combining maximum hiding power with minimal material consumption.”
