Concept

Blended Learning is learning that is facilitated by the effective combination of different modes of delivery, models of teaching and styles of learning, and founded on transparent communication amongst all parties involved with a course

How does R-M make a training ?

By taking into account the latest research into adult learning. The result is a very modern approach to training which is light-years away from the way you learned at school. Passive learning (sitting in a classroom for hours, listening to a monologue from the teacher) is definitively “out”, ACTIVE LEARNING is definitively “in”.

Active learning is a style of teaching which leads the delegates to find solutions by themselves. Our Engineers, who are dedicated to creating technical and business seminars, have devised individual and group activities which are like games, but which have a precise learning objective which is achieved using the active participation of the delegates. This focuses the delegates’ attention on the task in hand and takes fully into account the different learning types - psychological studies have identified that many people learn better by doing hands-on activities rather than reading or listening to information.

The training seminars also take special care to vary the media used. After a short (and really we mean short !) powerpoint presentation, we always change the pace by introducing a group activity or practical application. We use a real mixture of paperboard, powerpoint, video clips, practical work and demonstrations to ensure that all participants are totally focused on the subject.

Scientific studies have also shown that the human bio-rhythm should be taken into consideration in the choice of activities. For example, we all know that the period just after lunch - the “graveyard shift” - is the worst moment in the day to sit through a presentation. The R-M seminars therefore plan-in a group or application-type activity which involves moving around the classroom or workshop rather than sitting down. This helps keep our students alert and optimises the day that they spend in the seminar, because we fully appreciate how important our customers’ time is !

Of course, these teaching methods are state-of-the-art and move quite far away from the traditional methods. For total success, they therefore require a highly-skilled trainer to carry them out into the field. At R-M, we have invested in training our trainers to the highest level of competency in didactics so that they are able to put into practice the excellent seminars that our engineers have crafted.

The R-M Training For Excellence offer is really quite a sophisticated global service that has a true value attached. We can achieve high levels of efficiency because our proven methods, combined with highly-qualified trainers, ensure that the knowledge and skills are truly transferred to the delegates in a lasting way.

We also measure the outcome of seminars in two ways : firstly, we measure the knowledge at key moments of the seminar, to ensure that all members of the group have reached the correct level before moving on. Secondly, we measure systematically the customer satisfaction at the end of each seminar, by means of a comprehensive questionnaire. This allows us to accurately identify any deficiency and take immediate corrective actions so that we are permanently improving our offer.

Training for Excellence really does deliver what it says and makes Earning for Leaning fun !
