Premiere for environmentally friendly car-tuning paints

At the Paris Tuning Show, R-M, BASF Coatings’ paint brand, appeared with a splash of color and set a clear signal for environmental protection. At this leading international trade show, R-M proved that coatings used in car tuning can be colorful and spectacular, making them highly attractive for the burgeoning tuning market, while even exceeding stringent environmental requirements. The name of the new premium coating finish with its brilliant colors is CARIZZMA. It clearly emphasizes a vehicle’s silhouette – but without making a loud or brassy impression. R-M is using the innovative automotive paint to position itself in the rising market segment of car tuning, offering solutions for the trend toward ever greater individualization of cars. “Tuning” ceased to be the exclusive domain of very young people a long time ago. In fact, it has become a movement comprising car owners from nearly every age bracket who are tuning a growing share of mid-size cars and top-class vehicles, aiming to stand out from the crowd. Professionality and quality thus play a major role in all aspects of car tuning, especially when it comes to refinishing.

In developing CARIZZMA, R-M tapped into its years of experience with ONYX HD, a paint system that was successfully launched in 1995.
