R-M presents special effect paint line at Automechanika in Dubai
CARIZZMA coatings dazzle the Middle East
Dubai. In future, the Arabian Peninsula will be swimming in a sea of
color: R-M, the automotive refinish paints brand of BASF Coatings, took
advantage of the recent Automechanika trade show held in Dubai at the beginning
of June to present its CARIZZMA line of environmentally friendly waterborne
products for the first time to the customers in the region. With these
brilliant premium coatings, the streets and roads will provide a spectacle of
color to match anything in 1001 Nights. The biggest foreign Automechanika
exhibition in the Middle East is the most important event of its kind in the
strongly growing regional market for automotive spare parts and
accessories.
Exclusive colors for demanding customers
R-M national head trainer Lee Gough explains: “In the United Arab Emirates,
car customization is very important, with the finish playing a particularly
prominent role. We receive lots of inquiries about special pigments and special
effect coatings. CARIZZMA is the response to these special customer
wishes.”
Only last year, the ONYX HD paint line was introduced at Automechanika by Al
Dahiya, R-M’s exclusive distribution partner. It then took only a further year
for solvent-reduced, VOC-compliant special effect paints to be introduced to
the general public in the form of the CARIZZMA line. As M.C.M. Jaleel, general
manager of AL Dahiya, emphasizes: “The basecoats of the ONYX HD line are
selling highly successfully. We are highly delighted that we are now the first
to be able to present the new CARIZZMA line, which is based on the ONYX HD
system.”
Easy handling and the paint application training specially offered by R-M
for CARIZZMA is the formula for ensuring for perfect finishes. “With CARIZZMA,
it is possible to produce an incredible variety of color shades with just one
mixing machine. This new product line and our range of services will certainly
contribute to establishing the R-M brand even more strongly on the market of
the Middle East. “As far as I know, we are the only ones who are able to offer
the customers a complete solution of this kind”, says Lee Gough with
conviction.
The growing interest in customized automotive solutions was also reflected
in the number of visitors to the trade show in Dubai’s famous World Trade
Center, which were up by more than 30 percent on the previous year. Within the
course of three days, the exhibition attracted 18,500 visitors from the region,
wanting to find out all about the latest products and trends offered by the 950
exhibitors from 45 countries. So today, only three years after its
inauguration, the event already counts three times as many visitors as in
2003.
